Since 1998, Chopard and the Cannes Film Festival have been jointly writing the history of cinema. After the cancelled 2020 edition, Chopard was delighted to return to the movie theatres of the famous Palais des Festivals.
Resembling a hanging garden overlooking the sea, the Chopard Rooftop hosted its prestigious guests on the panoramic terrace of the Hôtel Martinez, entirely refurbished for this occasion to reflect the ‘Paradise’ theme chosen by Caroline Scheufele – Co-President and Artistic Director of the Maison.
The Festival is an opportunity for the Maison to demonstrate its commitment to cinema and its talents, in particular through the Trophée Chopard, which for the past 20 years has rewarded a talented actress and actor in order to provide a springboard for their career. This year, Jessica Chastain acted as godmother for the two laureates – Jessie Buckley and Kingsley Ben-Adir – at a ceremony attended by Thierry Frémaux and Pierre Lescure along with an array of industry movers and shakers.
The partnership between Chopard and the Cannes Film Festival is also the story of the Palme d’Or and the other trophies handed out at the Closing Ceremony during which the jury awards its prizes – all of which are crafted in Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie workshops.
