You’ve spent hours creating the perfect look, but it’s all for nothing if you can’t apply the eye makeup correctly. Here are some tips to help you get it right:
1. Start with great makeup brushes. Makeup brushes are one of the most important parts of your makeup kit—and they’re not just for applying foundation and blush! Makeup brushes are great for applying eye shadow too. Look for brushes that have very soft bristles so they won’t irritate your delicate skin around your eyes.
2. Apply a base eyeshadow to the lid. To create dimension in your eyeshadow look, start by applying a base shade to cover up any discoloration or redness on your eyelids. This will make other shades easier to apply without looking uneven or patchy later on down the line.
3. Concentrate darker shadow in the eye crease. Next up is using darker shadows to add depth and definition to your eyeshadow look by concentrating them in the crease between where your eyelid meets your brow bone and where it connects with your nose bridge (called an “eye socket”). This helps create an illusion of smaller eyes by making them look deeper set than they actually are!
